Queensland Law Journal

The Queensland Law Journal (QLJ) is a new law journal which commenced publication in 2024. It continues the tradition of Queensland’s first law journal, which was published from 1884 to 1901.

The object of the QLJ is to publish journal articles of direct relevance to the practice of law in Queensland, and thereby enhance the accessibility and useability of the caselaw collection which is published on the Queensland Judgments website.

By publishing these articles in conjunction with this judgment collection, it is also hoped that useful commentary on Queensland law will be more accessible to those undertaking legal research.

The QLJ will be published online, on a quarterly basis, on the Queensland Judgments website. As with whole of the Queensland Judgments website, access to the QLJ will be free of charge.

The QLJ is under the control of an Editorial Committee, which presently comprises Justice Sue Brown JA, Justice Roger Derrington, John McKenna KC and David O’Brien. The Sub-Editor of the QLJ is Adam Lukacs.

Articles in the QLJ may be cited in the form: (2024) QLJ 1.
